En el ámbito sanitario, el derecho de acceso del interesado es una de las vías para poder controlar si se realiza algún acceso indebido o no por parte de los profesionales sanitarios, permitiendo al titular de los datos ejercer las acciones correspondientes. En relación al acceso por parte de los profesionales a los datos personales del interesado, cabe preguntarse si el paciente puede restringir a ciertos facultativos el acceso a datos o antecedentes que no guarden relación con su especialidad. Esto es, se ha de estudiar si el titular de los datos puede ocultar determinada información médica con el objetivo de limitar el acceso al mismo por los facultativos que no requieran dicho conocimiento. Por último, es necesario analizar cuáles son los límites del derecho de supresión en el campo de la salud.
