O artigo analisa as representações auditivas, da cidade de Picos-PI, nos anos de 1994 e 1995. Fundamenta-se nas matérias do periódico Tribuna de Picos e, no Código de Postura de Picos (1987). Essa abordagem parte da compreensão de tomar a cidade como objeto para a análise de múltiplas representações urbanas, com foco na configuração sonora. A análise das fontes conta com aporte teórico de autores que iscutem as temáticas de história e cidades, dialogando com José D’ Assunção Barros (2012), Michel de Certeau (2008) e Sandra Jatahy Pesavento (2010); representações, dialogando com Roger Chartier (1990); espaço e sonoridades, dialogando com os estudos de Murray Schafer (2011a, 2011b) e José Miguel Wisnik (2017). A pesquisa apontou o fato de que as representações auditivas, veiculadas pelo jornal Tribuna de Picos, produziam críticas aos ruídos da cidade de Picos-PI, buscando retratar essa possível característica de “cidade do barulho” que tinha constantes “perturbadores do sossego público”. Apontou também certo desrespeito ao regramento municipal que legislava sobre o sossego público.
The article analyzes the auditory representations of the city of Picos-PI, in the years 1994 and 1995. It is based on the articles of the Tribuna de Picos and the Picos Posture Code (1987). This approach starts from the understanding of taking the city as an object for the analysis of multiple urban representations, with a focus on the sound configuration. The analysis of the sources relies on theoretical input from authors who discuss the themes of history and cities, talking with José D' Assunção Barros (2012), Michel de Certeau (2008) and Sandra Jatahy Pesavento (2010); representations, talking with Roger Chartier (1990); space and sonorities, talking with the studies of Murray Schafer (2011a, 2011b) and José Miguel Wisnik (2017). The research pointed to the fact that the auditory representations, published by the Tribuna de Picos newspaper, produced criticisms of the noise of the city of Picos-PI, seeking to portray this possible characteristic of "city of noise" that had constant "disturbing public quiet". He also pointed out a certain disregard for the municipal rules that legislated on public tranquility.
