O Poder Legislativo do Distrito Federal é exercido pela Câmara Legislativa do Distrito Federal (CLDF), composta de deputados distritais, representantes do povo, eleitos e investidos na forma da legislação federal. O Congresso Nacional e suas Casas, o estatuto dos congressistas e o processo legislativo no âmbito federal são temas de estudo cotidiano, sendo objeto de análises e comentários de renomados doutrinadores e entusiastas do mundo jurídico e da ciência política. Lado outro, quando o interesse recai sobre o Poder Legislativo do Distrito Federal, raras são as obras que discorrem sobre o tema. Este artigo propõe-se a tratar sobre o Poder Legislativo do Distrito Federal e sobre o crivo de constitucionalidade da Comissão de Constituição e Justiça. O trabalho não tem objetivo de esgotar o tema, porém amplia o debate para analisar as características próprias do Poder Legislativo do Distrito Federal dos pontos de vista prático e teórico.
The Legislative Power is exercised by the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District, composed of district deputies, representatives of the people, elected and invested in the form of federal legislation. The National Congress and its Houses, the statute of congressmen and the legislative process at the Federal level are subjects of daily study, being the object of analyzes and comments by renowned scholars and enthusiasts of the world of law and political science. On the other hand, when the interest falls on the Legislative Power in the Federal District, there are few works that discuss the theme. This article is about the Legislative Power of the Federal District and about the constitutionality scrutiny of the Constitution and Justice Commission. The work does not intend to exhaust the subject; however, it expands the debate to analyze the characteristics of the Legislative Power of the Federal District, from a practical and theoretical point of view.
