El objetivo de este trabajo es señalar la relevancia que tiene para las personas con discapacidad que el Estado español cumpla los dictámenes de un órgano de tratado de derechos humanos tan relevante, como es el Comité sobre los Derechos de las Personas con Discapacidad de la ONU. Resulta indispensable reconocer que los derechos de las personas con discapacidad son, respecto a su ejercicio, derechos humanos jurídicamente vinculantes para un Estado, como el español, que forma parte de la Convención Internacional sobre los Derechos de las Personas con Discapacidad.
The aim of this paper is to highlight the relevance for persons with disabilities of the spanish State complying with the rulings of such an important human rights treaty body as the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It is essential to recognise that the rights of persons with disabilities are, with regard to their exercise, legally binding human rights for a State, such as Spain, which is a party to the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
