La siguiente investigación de tipo cualitativo se llevó a cabo en el Departamento de Inglés de la Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí. Entrevistando a diecinueve docentes encargados de impartir clase de inglés, con práctica en la enseñanza del idioma variada de tres hasta veintiocho años, en donde se preguntó sobre el impacto en el aprendizaje de alumnos de nivel elemental al usar material de apoyo didáctico en el que se incluye indistintamente inglés americano o inglés británico, situación que se presenta con regularidad, debido a que en el Centro de Auto Acceso del Departamento se cuenta con material proveniente tanto de empresas norteamericanas y británicas, además de que al momento de elegir algún material proveniente de la red generalmente solo se toma en cuenta el contenido y no de donde proviene el idioma.
The followingqualitativeresearch was carried out in the English Department of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí. Interviewing nineteen teachers in charge of teaching English, with practicein teaching the language from three to twenty-eight years, where they were asked about the impact on the learning ofa student of elementary level when is using materials where American English and British English are includedinterchangeably, a situation that happens very often since the Self Access Center of the Department has material from North American and British companies, in addition to the fact that when choosing any material from the network, only the content is taken into account and not where the language used comes from.
