O presente estudo analisa os impactos do Projeto Educa Basquete (PEB) na comunidade de Laranjeiras, Município de Serra/ES. Por ser uma pesquisa qualitativa, para a coleta de dados foram utilizados questionários e entrevistas direcionadas aos gestores do projeto e aos 26 pais/responsáveis dos alunos participantes, contendo questões relacionadas ao seu impacto social. Constatou-se que o projeto é genuíno e cumpre com sua a missão junto à comunidade onde encontra-se inserido, porém necessita de mais apoio financeiro para expandir o seu trabalho, tanto onde se encontra como em outros bairros da região. Por fim, foi possível perceber a importância de se utilizar o esporte como eixo norteador de um projeto social e seus benefícios junto à sociedade.
The present study analyzes the impacts of the Educa Basquete Project (EBP) in the community of Laranjeiras, Serra/ES municipality. For being a qualitative research, questionnaires and interviews were used for the data collection, directed at the project managers and the 26 parents/guardians of the participating students, containing questions related to their social impact. It was found that the project is genuine and fulfills its mission to the community where it is located, but it needs more financial support to expand its work, both where it is located and in other neighborhoods in the region. Finally, it was possible to perceive the importance of using sport as a guiding axis of a social project and its benefits to society.
