El presente artículo busca revelar el potencial de la Amazonía y las acciones y planteamientos importantes que se desarrollaron en la protección y la ocupación de ese territorio. Se incluye la memoria oral y escrita, las sociedades y las expresiones artísticas, porque se necesita conocer no sólo un aspecto de la región, sino también, su gente: ideas, culturas y artes, además de su historia como experiencia y relato. También se propone analizar los problemas que afectan ese territorio en la actualidad: por un lado, la deforestación y la poluición; por otro, el medio ambiente, la preservación de la naturaleza y el uso sostenible de los pueblos de la Amazonía.
This article seeks to reveal the potential of the Amazon and the important actions and approaches that were developed in the protection and occupation of that territory. Oral and written memory, societies and artistic expressions are included, because it is necessary to know not only one aspect of the region, but also its people: ideas, cultures and arts, in addition to its history as experience and story. It also proposes to analyze the problems that affect this territory today: on the one hand, deforestation and pollution; on the other, the environment, the preservation of nature and the sustainable use of the peoples of the Amazon.
