Numerosos músicos y científicos han investigado sobre la estrecha relación existente entre la música y las matemáticas. Por lo contrario, apenas existen recursos didácticos, aportaciones o experiencias sobre el efecto de su relación en el rendimiento académico del alumnado. En el presente estudio se busca como objetivo principal señalar las cualidades más favorables de cada una de las materias mencionadas con respecto al aprendizaje. Es por ello, por lo que se lleva a cabo una investigación “cuasi-experimental”, específicamente con alumnado de 3º de e.Primaria. Se realiza una comparativa entre un grupo control y un grupo experimental el cual tiene la oportunidad de aprender contenidos matemáticos ligados a contenidos musicales mediante una metodología fundamentada en la cooperación, aprendizaje basado en problemas y aprendizaje basado en el pensamiento. Una vez terminado nuestro estudio y observando los resultados obtenidos, finalizamos corroborando nuestro objetivo principal de la investigación, sabiendo que la utilización de la asignatura de música de manera transversal influye de manera positiva para el aprendizaje de las matemáticas en un aula de 3º de Educación Primaria.
Numerous musicians and scientists have investigated the close relationship between music and mathematics. However, there are hardly any teaching resources, contributions or experiences about the effect of their relationship on the academic student´s performance. The main objective of this study is to point out the most favorable qualities of each of the subjects related to the process of learning. For this reason, a “quasi-experimental” investigation is carried out, specific with students from 3rd Primary Education. It is a comparison made between a control group and an experimental group. The second one has the opportunity to learn mathematical content linked to musical content with a methodology characterized for the cooperative learning, problem-based learning and thinking-based learning. One the study has finished and observing the results obtained, we end up knowing that the use of the subject of music in a transversal way has a positive influence for the learning of mathematics in students of 3rd of Primary Education.
