Latinoamérica ha tenido un nuevo repunte de gobiernos nacionales de centro-izquierda e izquierda que se encuadra como una segunda “ola progresista”. En este ciclo, los gobiernos, sus fuerzas políticas y apuestas programáticas son más heterogéneas. Las estrategias y tácticas difieren de las usadas por su ola predecesora en un contexto también distinto. ¿En qué se parecen y en qué no? Este artículo describe siete aspectos en los que existen diferencias y semejanzas entre las dos olas progresistas que han tenido lugar en el siglo XXI en la región. Afirmamos que la segunda ola es más moderada, pragmática y heterogénea que la anterior.
Latin America have had a new upsurge of left and center-left national governments wading through like a new “pink tide”. In this cycle, the national governments, their political forces and programmatic commitments are more heterogeneous. The strategies and tacticsdiffer from those used by its predecessor wave in a different context. How are they similar and how are they not? This article describes seven aspects in which there are differences and similarities between two pink tides that have taken place in the 21st century in the region. We affirm the second pink tide is more moderate, pragmatic, and heterogeneous than the previous one.
