¿Cuál es la lógica interna de la sociedad totalitaria? ¿Cuál es el discurso ideológico que justifica esta nueva forma de dominación política? ¿Cuáles son las principales representaciones de esta matriz ideológica? En este ensayo recurriremos al pensamiento político del filósofo francés Claude Lefort con el objeto de ofrecer respuestas tentativas a estas preguntas. Para Lefort, el nacimiento del totalitarismo es producto de una mutación política sin precedentes, que no puede ser ubicada en el registro empírico de los acontecimientos, pues en esta forma de sociedad se activa un nuevo sistema de representaciones (pueblo- Uno, otro como enemigo, metáfora del cuerpo y de la organización, creación socialhistórica permanente, transparencia de la sociedad, etcétera) que determina el curso de los acontecimientos.
What is the internal logic of totalitarian societies? What is the ideological discourse that justifies this new form of political domination? What are the main representations of this ideological matrix? In this essay we will turn to the political thought of the French philosopher Claude Lefort in order to offer tentative answers to these questions. For Lefort, the birth of totalitarianism is the product of an unprecedented political mutation, which cannot be located in the empirical record of events, because in this form of society a new system of representations is activated (people-one, other as enemy, metaphor of the body and of organization, permanent social-historical creation, transparency of society, etc.) which determines the course of events.
