En el presente artículo se analiza cómo los contextos y debates en los que se han desarrollado los cambios conceptuales de lo que hoy se entiende por seguridad alimentaria han dificultado luchar por su garantía, amenazando así la supervivencia de la especie humana. De inicio, se presenta una revisión sobre los orígenes histórico-conceptuales del fenómeno, se identifican los diversos elementos que han motivado su evolución y el rumbo que han tomado los discursos y paradigmas que lo siguen, para concluir con una discusión sobre las limitaciones que se identifican en sus fundamentos teórico-metodológicos y un posible conflicto de intereses por parte de importantes actores involucrados, el cual incide en la realidad de los problemas alimentarios modernos.
This article analyzes how the context and debates that shaped the conceptual changes of what is now understood by food security have made it difficult to fight its assurance, thus threatening the survival of the human species. For this reason, it offers a review of the historical-conceptual origins of the phenomenon. It identifies the various elements that have motivated its evolution and the direction taken by the discourses and paradigms that follow it. The article ends with a discussion on the limitations that are identified in its theoretical-methodological foundations and on a possible conflict of interest on the part of important agents involved, which affects the reality of modern food problems.
