Cuando la Asamblea Constituyente en Montecristi, el 24 de julio del año 2008, promulgó la Constitución vigente en octubre 20/2008, en la Disposición transitoria Vigésima, se dio el plazo perentorio de 5 años para la evaluación y acreditación de todas las IES del Ecuador, así como sus carreras, programas y postgrados. En caso de no superar la evaluación y acreditación, quedarían fuera del Sistema de Educación Superior. Una vez finalizado el plazo indicado el ente contralor emitió un dictamen sobre la cualificación obtenida por cada una de las universidades del país. Se acerca el vencimiento del segundo periodo de intervención por parte del Consejo de Educación Superior CES y se hacen ya proyecciones sobre la nueva categoría de tan importante universidad ecuatoriana en base a la investigación interna de cada una de las facultades que la integran.
On July 24, 2008 the Constitutional Assembly in Montecristi, announced the different changes to the Ecuadorian Constitution, which will be applied on October 20, 2008, accordance to the twentieth Transitory Disposition, it was stablished a tentative deadline of five years for the Evaluation and Accreditation of all the IES (Institutions of Superior Education) in Ecuador, including their careers and postgraduate programs. The institutions that do not approve the evaluation and accreditation process, will be taken out from the Superior System of Education. Once the deadline finishes the controller establishment presented a resolution with the qualification that each university of the country reached . The deadline of the second period for the Intervention from the Superior Board of Education CES is near, that is why there are many projections about the new category that this important Ecuadorian university will reach based on the internal investigation of each faculty which are part of the institution.
