Este estudio valoró la importancia de la identidad cultural en el ámbito educativo superior y su correlación directa con la licenciatura en turismo y hotelería. Dentro del término descriptivo y explicativo se determinó por medio del análisis, observación y descripción de las variables la necesidad de fomentar la práctica de cultura nacional en los estudiantes a través de la implementación del eje de educación en identidad en el curriculum de la carrera, objetivo principal de la investigación. Los datos estadísticos que sostienen este estudio provienen de los resultados obtenidos por aplicación de encuestas realizadas a los estudiantes, y entrevistas a autoridades; éstos demostraron la carencia de conocimiento cultural en la comunidad estudiantil, no obstante revelaron el interés de ellos al aprendizaje. La propuesta busca comprometer al docente a implementar este tema en sus clases y proyectos por medio de la difusión de la cultura ecuatoriana en sus actividades.
This study values the importance of the cultural identity in the higher education and its direct connection with the tourism and hospitality degree. In the descriptive and explanatory term that through analysis, observation and description of the variables is established the need to promote the practice of national culture in students through the implementation of the axis of identity in education in the curriculum, that is the main objective of the research. This research is supported by the statistical data come from the results obtained by application of surveys to students, and interviews with authorities; those demonstrate the lack of cultural awareness in the student community, however reveal their interest in learning. The proposal of this work is to get the professor’s compromise to implement this in their classes and projects by the dissemination of Ecuadorian culture in the activities of all teachers in higher education.
