Objetivo: identificar las implicaciones de la pandemia de COVID-19 en la trata de personas en Chihuahua durante 2020 y 2021, teniendo en cuenta los derechos humanos y el modelo ecológico. Metodología: cualitativa mediante la exploración de casos reales y la revisión de la literatura. Resultados: se describe la trata de personas en Chihuahua durante la pandemia y su relación con la violencia familiar, el hacinamiento y la pobreza debidos al confinamiento, factores que actúan como agentes facilitadores de dicho crimen. Valor: se enumeran los factores de riesgo, se identifican los municipios con mayor cantidad de casos y se describen las estrategias de reclutamiento. Limitaciones: la ausencia de bases de datos confiables. Conclusiones: hay una clara discrepancia entre las cifras de las instituciones gubernamentales y las de la sociedad civil. Las modalidades predominantes de la trata son la sexual y la laboral. Las estrategias de reclutamiento se facilitan a través de las redes sociales virtuales y de los videojuegos.
Objective: to identify the implications of COVID-19 pandemic on human trafficking in the state of Chi-huahua during 2020-2021 taking into account the human rights and the ecological model. Methodolo-gy: qualitative through the exploration of real cases and literature review. Results: the description of the human trafficking behavior during the pandemic in Chihuahua and its relation to the increase in family violence, the overcrowding, the poverty due to confi-nement, which are factors that act as contributing ele-ments for victimization. Value: listing of the risk fac-tors, the identification of the municipalities with the highest number of cases in the state, and the descrip-tion of victim recruitment mechanisms. Limitations: the absence of reliable databases. Conclusions: there is a clear discrepancy between the numbers from insti-tutions and those from civil society. The prevalent mo-dalities are sexual and work-related. The use of social networks and video games strengthen and enhance victim’s induction mechanisms.
