En los textos de los clásicos de la sociología, la historia tiene una fuerte presencia y el llamado teórico a una sociología con consciencia histórica ha sido común, en particular en América Latina. Sin embargo, esos llamados han sido infructuosos. En este artículo abordamos algunas hipótesis en torno al este hecho y concluimos defendiendo esta necesidad de una sociología que conozca en profundidad la historia. In classical sociological texts, history has a strong presence, and the theoretical defence of an historical aware sociology has been common, in particular in Latin America. However, those arguments had been unsuccessful. In this paper we will present some hypothesis around this fact, and we will conclude defending the need of a sociology that is based on an historical knowledge in depth. Without that knowledge, we obtain bad empirical sociology and insufficient theorical approaches.
