En el declinar del siglo xix la cuestión educativa aparece vinculada con la naciente cuestión social.La crítica situación tras el desastre colonial y el creciente movimiento obrero ante el binomio capital y trabajo, contrasta con las propuestas regeneracionista de quienes bajo la sombra de la Institución Libre de Enseñanza vincularan la Universidad con la sociedad a través de la Extensión Universitaria.Ante el conflicto social del emergente movimiento obrero, la formación del proleta-riado se convirtió en la función definidora de la Extensión Universitaria; su labor de carácter educativo y social puso a la Universidad en contacto con el pueblo fuera de su esfera oficial docente.En este contexto, en el presente trabajo se trata de analizar el reformismo integra-dor propuesto, por quienes desde la Extensión Universitaria convirtieron la cuestión social en una cuestión de Estado que exigía la reforma nacional a través de una refor-ma educativa. Un reformismo social preventivo, por el que lograr la integración de la clase trabajadora en el proceso de democratización social.
In the decline of the 19th century, the educational question is linked to the nascent social question.The critical situation after the colonial disaster and the growing workers movement facing the binomial capital and work contrasts, with the regenerationist proposals of those under the shadow of the Free Institution of Education will link the University with society through the University Extension.Faced with the social conflict of the emerging labour movement, the formation of the proletariat became the defining function of the University Extension, whose educa-tional and social work put the University in contact with the people outside its official teaching sphere.In this context, in this work it is about analyzing the proposed integrative refor-mism, by those who from the University Extension turned the social question into a matter of State that demanded national reform through an educational reform. A pre-ventive social reformism, by which to achieve the integration of the working class in the process of social democratization.
