El presente trabajo es la primera parte de un proyecto que tiene por objeto analizar el nacimiento, desarrollo y afianzamiento de los estudios geográficos en la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. Sus resultados contribuirán a un enriquecimiento de la historia de la geografía en la región y en el país.
El trabajo analiza la obra geográfica del Prof. Miguel Marzo procurando establecer las conexiones con el pensamiento que dio sustento científico a su formación.
Se revisan obras de los maestros de Marzo, estableciéndose que siguen a dos corrientes principales del pensamiento científico, y se determinan sus posibles influencias en la obra del autor estudiado. Se concluye que predomina en Marzo una concepción historicista y una inclinación hacia la escuela geográfica alemana, aunque en su obra queda en claro su independencia y pragmatismo en función de la realidad espacial argentina, diferente de la europea.
This work is the first part of a project that aims to analyze the birth, development and consolidation of geographic studies at the National University of Cuyo. Its results will contribute to an enrichment of the history of geography in the region and the country.The work analyzes the geographical work of Prof. Miguel Marzo trying to establish the connections with the thought that gave scientific support to his training.Works by the March masters are reviewed, establishing that they follow two main currents of scientific thought, and their possible influences on the work of the studied author are determined. It is concluded that a historicist conception and an inclination towards the German geographical school predominate in March, although in his work his independence and pragmatism are clear based on the Argentine spatial reality, different from the European one.
