La infraestructura económica en América Latina ha mostrado una tendencia decreciente, en particular a partir de la retracción de la inversión pública en infraestructura registrada en la década de los ochenta. La disminución de las inversiones ha favorecido la existencia de una brecha de infraestructura que debe ser atendida. Conceptos recientes como los de infraestructura verde y capital natural deben ser tenidos en cuenta a la hora de dar una respuesta efectiva a la brecha de infraestructura. En el presente artículo se exploran estas cuestiones.
The economic infrastructure in Latin America has shown a decreasing trend since the retraction of public infrastructure in the eighties. The reduction in investments favored an infrastructure gap that needs to be attended. Recent concepts such as green infrastructure and natural capital should be considered at the time of providing an effective response to the infrastructure gap. The present article deals with these issues.
