La declaración del Año Europeo del Ferrocarril en 2021 es una buena ocasión para pensar en nuestro patrimonio desde una perspectiva más general que local. Este artículo ofrece una vision general del patrimonio ferroviario en términos de uso, reutilización y preservación, e identifica hasta siete dilemas del patrimonio ferroviario. Estos dilemas ayudan a iniciar los próximos pasos hacia un manejo major y coordinado de nuestro patrimonio ferroviario.
Railway heritage is a broad and complex topic. Railways became an public means of transport all over the world and are the most eco-efficient transport system. The European Year of Rail in 2021 released to think about our railway heritage from a more general perspective than a local one. The paper gives an overview of railway heritage in terms of use, reuse and preservation and identifies seven dilemmas of railway heritage. Such dilemmas help to start next steps towards a better and coordinated handling of our railway heritage.
