El artículo presenta los resultados de un estudio realizado en Chile cuyo propósito fue describir los significados de la atención recibida por 12 familias usuarias en el Centro de Evaluación y Estimulación Temprana Universitario (CEETU) de la Universidad Católica de Temuco. La investigación es cualitativa con alcances descriptivos, utilizando como instrumento grupos focales. Los hallazgos destacan que el significado que otorgan las familias a la atención ofrecida por el CEETU está valorada favorablemente, ya que considera las características del niño/a, la participación activa de las familias durante el proceso y trabajo interdisciplinario de los diferentes profesionales que abordan los casos que ingresan y requieren de intervención.
This article presents the results of a study carried out in Chile whose purpose was to describe the meanings of the service received by 12 user families at the University Assessment and Early Stimulation Center (UAESC) of the Catholic University of Temuco. This research is qualitative with descriptive scopes, which used focal groups as an instrument. The findings outline that the meaning that families give to the service offered by the UAESC is favorably valued. This is because it considers the characteristics of the child, the active participation of families during the process, and the interdisciplinary work of the different professionals who address the cases that enter the program and require intervention.
