Entre otras cosas, la invasión francesa de Sevilla trajo como consecuencia la dislocación del sistema conventual tanto en su aspecto patrimonial como en el artístico.
Además, ello supuso la dispersión y en algunos casos la pérdida del inmenso patrimonio artístico que poseían estos conventos, en su mayoría masculinos por el uso que las tropas de ocupación hicieron de los mismos. En otras ocasiones, la eliminación de estos cenobios se debió a la aplicación de nuevos conceptos urbanísticos traídos por los ocupantes.
Among other things, the French invasion of Seville resulted in the dislocation of the convent system in both its heritage and artistic aspects. In addition, this meant the dispersal and in some cases the loss of the immense artistic heritage possessed by these convents, mostly male because of the use made of them by the occupying troops. At other times, the elimination of these cenobios was due to the application of new urban concepts brought by the occupiers.
