Los rituales ceremoniales de las fiestas de San Pedro y San Pablo, en la provincia de Manabí se vienen dando desde hace muchos años atrás, remontando desde el siglo XIX, realizando diferentes ceremonias en honor a la conmemoración del martirio en Roma de los apóstoles Simón Pedro y Pablo de Tars. Uno de los lugares más tradicionales en Manabí, Portoviejo es la ciudadela Primero de Mayo, por encontrarse en el sector un grupo de personas y asentarse instalaciones de los Gobiernos de Blancos y Negros que congregan y acogen a un buen número de fieles y devotos. Esta investigación analiza la organización comparativa entre localidades, referenciar los datos, acontecimientos religiosos y vestimenta utilizada en estos actos que contribuyen a ser un referente de los destinos turísticos religiosos de la ciudad de Portoviejo, en el campo investigativo se realizaron fichas de observación de esta manera se utilizó las entrevistas y muestreo a los habitantes que conocen y viven las festividades.
