This paper focuses on the heritage interpretation on a tourism strand, which is understood as a pedagogical act with educational, political, cultural and social intentionality. The object of studies is the Recanto dos Papagaios (Nook of the parrots), an area located on the border of the counties of Palmeira and Balsa Nova, state of Paraná, Brazil, holders of two heritages, natural and cultural. The proposed objetive is to identify how tourism can deal with the cultural and natural heritage found in the Recanto dos Papagaios, so that the visitor’s experience can be enjoyable and enriching. In order to achieve this, the specific goals are: to discuss the use of interpretation as a tool for valuing heritage; To know the methods of Heritage Interpretation; To analyze the current situation of the area as to the existence or not of interpretative techniques related to natural and cultural heritage; and to present interpretative techniques that can be applied at the study site. The methodology is based on theoretical reference and field research. It was concluded that there is no interpretation of the local heritage, therefore, it is productive for the tourist sector to use this pedagogical action for the benefit of the visitors as well as the area itself. Heritage Interpretation is able to enhance the visit, since it teaches, touches, educates, informs, finally, it transfers value to those who are there in their moment of visitation.
Este trabalho tem como foco a interpretação patrimonial com vertente para o turismo, sendo essa entendida como uma ação pedagógica com intencionalidade educativa, política, cultural e social. O objeto de estudos é o Recanto dos Papagaios, uma área localizada na divisa dos municípios de Palmeira e Balsa Nova, estado do Paraná, Brasil, detentora de dois bens patrimoniais, o natural e o cultural. O objetivo proposto é identificar de que modo o turismo pode lidar com o patrimônio cultural e natural encontrado no Recanto dos Papagaios, a fim de que a experiência do visitante possa ser agradável e enriquecedora. Rumo a alcançá-lo surgiram os objetivos específicos: discutir o uso da interpretação como ferramenta de valorização do patrimônio; conhecer os métodos de interpretação do patrimônio; analisar a situação atual da área quanto à existência ou não de técnicas interpretativas relacionadas ao patrimônio natural e cultural; e apresentar técnicas interpretativas que podem ser aplicadas no local de estudo. A metodologia se deu por meio de referencial teórico e pesquisa de campo. Concluiu-se que não existe interpretação do patrimônio local, sendo portanto, produtivo para o setor turístico utilizar-se desta ação pedagógica em benefício dos visitantes bem como do próprio bem patrimonial. A interpretação patrimonial tem a capacidade de engrandecer a visita, uma vez que ensina, sensibiliza, educa, informa, enfim transfere valor para os que ali estão em seu momento de visitação.
