El populismo sigue siendo un fenómeno controversial, a pesar de los aportes de Ernesto Laclau o Chantal Mouffe, guiados a comprenderlo. De ahí que, en este trabajo, que rechaza los reduccionismos y los esencialismos con los cuales se ha juzgado a las diversas manifestaciones de proyectos políticos populistas; se intenta desentrañar los alcances del populismo, yendo más allá de la concepción actual que bien lo entiende como mera reacción contestaria o antípoda de las instituciones. Profundizando en la capacidad que tiene para construir sentido y no solo como estrategia para la conquista del poder político.
Populism remains a controversial phenomenon despite the contributions of Ernesto Laclau or Chantal Mouffe, guided to understand it. Hence, this work, which rejects the reductionism and essentialisms with which the various manifestations of populist political projects have been judged, attempts to unravel the scope of populism, going beyond the current conception that well understands it as a mere response or antipodal reaction of the institutions. Deepening the capacity, it has to build meaning and not only as a strategy for the conquest of political power.
