The article engages with the results of the research on the e-lending service “MLOL”, conducted by Trento’s Public Library between March and July 2019. A twofold question guided the research: who is the platform user? And how is the relationship between the traditional and the digital unfolding within the public library realm? The research was designed following a quantitative approach: an online questionnaire was emailed to the whole population of digital users. Results suggest that the public library still holds its value and is not shadowed by its digital counterpart. Instead it establishes itself as a privileged access channel for the most affectionate and assiduous users.
