Resumen de Pandemia y suerte: notas sobre el rol del Estado

  Las consecuencias de la pandemia pueden considerarse como desgracias o injusticias. En este escrito mostrar´e que la situaci´on general en Chile se configura como una injusticia. Para justificar el punto anterior describir´e a grandes rasgos las caracter´ısticas fundamentales del igualitarismo de la suerte. Luego, al exponer los datos disponibles en Chile, mostrar´e por qu´e en Chile las consecuencias del coronavirus se configuran como injusticias. En particular, mostrar´e que si los seres humanos son libres e iguales en derechos, entonces es necesario que esa igualdad se exprese en su igual capacidad de enfrentar la suerte bruta. As´ı, los seres humanos son por una parte, libres, y por ende responsables, y por otro, iguales, y por ende, libres de la suerte bruta. Por lo tanto, el rol del estado, en tanto conjunto de instituciones que distribuyen justicia, es minimizar la suerte (bruta). La relacio´n entre los efectos de la pandemia y condici´on socioecon´omica debe leerse como el abandono de los ciudadanos a su suerte bruta. Dejar a los ciudadanos a su suerte no es simplemente una desgracia, es una injusticia.

  The consequences of the coronavirus pandemic disease can be underestood as misfortune or injustice. In this paper I will show that in Chile it can be understood as an injustice. To justify it I will describe the main characteristics of the luck egalitarian theory. Then, I will show some data about the coronavirus disease in Chile to justify why in Chile the pandemic disease is an injustice. Namely, I will show that if human beings are free and equal in rights, then it is necessary that equality has been expressed in the equal capacity to face the brute luck. So, human beings are free, this is to say, responsibles, and equal, this is to say, brute luck free. Therefore, the main aim of the State, as far as the set of institutions of justice, is to minimize the brute luck. The relationship between the effects of the pandemic and the socioeconomic condition should be understood as the abandonment of the citizens to their brute luck.

  To let citizens alone with their brute luck is not a disgrace, it is an injustice.
