El estudio proporciona información precisa del fenómeno asociativo de carácter socio-familiar en la ciudad de León y las diversas formas en que se expresa, poniendo en evidencia la importancia de su aportación a la red de dispositivos de protección social.
Deja constancia de metas y reivindicaciones de las distintas formas asociativas, de la presencia y aportaciones de los trabajadores sociales que las impulsan y/o promueven, de su estructura y funcionamiento interno, del origen y motivos fundacionales, así como de sus dificultades y perspectivas de futuro en el momento presente, caracterizado por procesos complejos de cambio social, político y económico. Refleja la importancia de la iniciativa familiar en la construcción del sistema de servicios sociales. Se fundamenta en el compromiso de adhesión de la EUTS con los propósitos del vigésimo aniversario del Año Internacional de la Familia, para responder a los nuevos retos que esta enfrenta.
The paper provides accurate information about associative phenomena of socio-familial behaviour and the various ways in which it is expressed in the city of Leon. This work highlights their contribution to the network of social protection mechanisms. It records goals and claims concerning the different association forms, the presence and contributions of the social workers that boost and promote them, their internal structure and functioning, their origin and foundational reasons, as well as their problems and future prospects at present. Those key points are characterized by their complex social processes and their political and economic changes. The paper also reflects the importance of family initiatives in building social service systems. It is based on the accession commitment of the EUTS to the main purposes of the twentieth anniversary of the International Year of the Family in order to respond to the new challenges that families have to face.
