El artículo estudia la trayectoria de los precios del vino ordinario en Segovia en los siglos XVII y XVIII. La primera parte analiza el mercado de vino local. La segunda ofrece la serie con los precios del vino ordinario segoviano entre 1596 y 1807. De la misma se deduce que, en el largo plazo, los precios permanecieron estables, aunque dentro de esta trayectoria se distinguen varias fases: altos niveles de precios a inicios del XVII, desplome durante la inflación del vellón y un prolongado estancamiento posterior, hasta finales del XVIII. Por último, la tercera parte sugiere que los precios del vino segoviano eran más bien elevados en comparación con los de otras localidades, lo que pudiera deberse a la proliferación de tributos sobre esta bebida.
This article deals with the evolution of the prices of cheap wine in XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries Segovia. First part analyses yhe city's wine market. The second offers the Segovian cheap wine prices series between 1596 and 1807. On the long run, wine prices remained stagnant, although there were different phases: after high initial levels, wine prices punged during the manipulations of the Castilian currency which took place during the XVIIth century. Wine prices remained stagnant around the low levels reached during this phase, until a last-minute recovery at the end of the XVIIIth century, Lastly, third part suggests that wine prices in Segovia were higher than in other Castilian towns; probably as result of the proliferation of taxes levied on this product.
