Las revoluciones populares en el Norte de África y en el Medio Oriente marcaron el inicio del 2011 en un fenómeno sin precedentes en la región. Esto devino en una serie de respuestas diferentes entre los estados involucrados. Sin embargo, el caso de Libia en particular, llamó la atención de la comunidad internacional por la cruenta reacción del régimen de Muammar Al Gadafi , a las protestas. Con el aumento de la violencia la reacción no se hizo esperar y el régimen hoy enfrenta sanciones internacionales, una intervención militar y una guerra civil. ¿Es éste el fin de Gadafi ? Tal vez no, sin embargo, si es el fin de una era.AbstractPopular uprisings in North Africa and the Middle East marked the beginning of 2011 in an unprecedented phenomenon in the region. This resulted in a number of different responses among the states involved. However, the case of Libya in particular, drew the attention of the international community because of the violent response of the regime of Muammar Al-Gaddafi to the protests. With increasing violence response was swift and the regime now faces international sanctions, a military intervention and a civil war. Is this the end of Qaddafi ? Maybe not, however, it is the end of an era.
