This article analyzes the territorial planning role towards sustainable development, in thr Municipality of Barrancabermejo Santander- Colombia, in the context of the comples relationship among the population, the activities of the petroleum industry and the environment.
The interest for this study comes from the observation of the inability of the planning instruments, and the urban discipline to control the irregular and informal urbanitation of the soil and the environmental effects by the different incompatible uses of it. As werll aas the effects that these facts produce, such as ; the reduction of the main ecological structure and the risk condition of the population that makes up their settlements inareas nor suitable for housing. Under thisd premise, the present text aims to popose guidelines fo rterritorial planning concerning the sustaible development of the Municipaly under study. It concludes in the need of guiding the planning towards the coverage of the needs and structural urban problems of the territory. with appropriete solutions to its characterization and the culture of its inhabitants, in the search of harmonius integration between population and nature
Este artículo analiza la función de la planificación territorial hacia el desarrollo sostenible en el municipio de Barrancabermeja, Santander- Colombia, en el contexto de la compleja relación entre la población , las actividades de la industria del petroleo y el medio ambiente.
El interés por el estudio , nace de la observación de la incapacidad de los instrumentos de planeamiento y la disciplina urbanística por controlar la urbanización irregular e informal del suelo, las afectaciones ambientales por los diversos usos incompatibles y los efectos de estos hecho producen, como ; la reducción de la estructura ecológica principal y l condición de riesgo de la población que conforma sus asentamientos en áreas no aptas par ala vivienda. Bajo tal premisa, el presente texto tiene por objetivo, proponer lineamientos de planificación territorial hacia el desarrollo sostenible del Municipio en estudio y concluye en la necesidad de orientar la planificación, hacia el cubrimiento de las necesidades y problemáticas urbanas estructurales del territorio, con soluciones acordes a su caracterización y la cultura de sus habitantes, en la búsqueda de la integración armónica entre la población y la naturaleza
