Bringing to light what makes the idea of corruption, and how it has changed, "ordinary" helps us first to better identify the purpose of the French Financial Prosecutor's Office (PNF). It also helps us to better understand the rift between the expectations created by the PNF and the legal and institutional reality that governs its actions.
Lastly, by questioning how the idea of corruption has changed, we are also questioning the challenges associated with fighting corruption. These challenges emanate from changes in mores, the relationship with public welfare and, more recently, economic globalisation
Mettre en évidence « l'ordinaire » du concept de corruption et ses évolutions permet, d'abord, de mieux identifier les raisons d'être du Parquet national financier (PNF). Cette réflexion permet aussi de mieux comprendre le décalage entre les attentes que génère le PNF et la réalité juridique et institutionnelle qui encadre son action.
Enfin, interroger l'évolution du concept de corruption, c'est aussi interroger les enjeux attachés à la lutte contre la corruption, enjeux qui procèdent de l'évolution des moeurs, du rapport à la chose publique et désormais de la mondialisation économique.
