  • Switzerland's foreign trade policy is focused on advancing the interests of its industries. This having said, there is a remarkable degree of parallelism between the free trade strategies of the EU-Switzerland 's main trading partner - and the pertinent Swiss approach. While the gravitational pull of the world's biggest trader may play a role, it would appear that parallelisrn of interests and basic values of these two European actors is the more appropriate explanation for this phenomenon.
