A partir del análisis de dos novelas especulativas y futuristas de la autora Starhawk, el artículo muestra el poder de la imaginación para la acción política. No solo se trata del poder de la literatura para influir en la sociedad, sino que estas novelas ponen un fuerte énfasis en el papel de la imaginación para desarrollar nuevos modelos de sociedades sostenibles al hacer al lector partícipe del proceso mental de los personajes. Por tanto, las novelas empoderan al lector para reflexionar y efectuar sus propios cambios.
Based on the analysis of two speculative and futuristic novels by Starhawk, the article highlights the power of the imagination to instigate political action. It is not only the power of literature to shape society, but these novels in themselves emphasize the role of the imagination in developing new, more sustainable societies, making readers share the mental processes involved. Therefore, the novels actually empower readers to reflect and make their own changes.
