O agronegócio é fonte de riquezas para o Brasil. As legislações impõem parâmetros para sua implantação sustentável. Mas, será que o agronegócio atende, de fato, a tais preceitos legais? Qual o papel do Estado e do Direito no processo de alinhamento entre crescimento econômico e proteção aos direitos fundamentais e ao meio ambiente? O objetivo do estudo foi contribuir para possíveis respostas a estes questionamentos, a partir da pesquisa bibliográfica e do método dedutivo.
Concluiu-se que as políticas voltadas ao agronegócio têm sucumbido aos interesses mercadológicos. A teoria das capacidades humanas pode orientar a criação de políticas públicas no setor.
Agribusiness is a source of wealth for Brazil. Legislation imposes parameters for its sustainable implementation. But, does agribusiness in fact comply with such legal precepts? What is the role of the State and Law in the process of aligning economic growth with protection of fundamental rights and the environment? The objective of the study was to contribute to possible answers to these questions, based on the bibliographic research and the deductive method. It was concludedt hat agribusiness policies have succumbed to market interests. The theory of human capabilities can guide the creation of public policies in the sector.
