Se pretende ofrecer una serie de experiencias sobre selección y recolección de información en Internet, destacando la diversidad de formatos y normas disponibles, incluyendo la ausencia de normas. En contraposición, la irrupción de Europeana como agregador de información de bibliotecas, archivos y museos europeos que recoge una gran cantidad de datos de muy diversas instituciones pero que gracias a la normalización y también al trabajo previo de catalogación y descripción de las instituciones participantes puede accederse a ellos con la garantía de recuperar información pertinente y relevante. Esto va a facilitar tanto el acceso como la reutilización de los datos referidos al patrimonio cultural europeo.
This work aims to show a range of experiences on selecting and collecting information from the Internet, highlighting the diversity of formats and standards available, including the absence of standards. In contradistinction, Europeana collects data relating to digital objects held by galleries, libraries, archives and museums across Europe, which contains a large amount of data from many different institutions but thanks to the standardization and also to previous work cataloguing and description of the participating institutions can be accessed guarantee them with pertinent and relevant information retrieval.
This will facilitate both access and reuse of data relating to the European cultural heritage.
