El Crucificado de la Salud de la iglesia de San Juan de Dios de Murcia se inscribe con absoluta precisión en los modelos dejados por el entallador Gutierre Gierero en la diócesis de Jaén, donde se asentó tras abandonar el levante murciano, para ejecutar, junto a Juan López de Velasco, la sillería del coro de la catedral giennense. Esta obra reviste para Murcia especial importancia por ser cuanto hasta ahora, con certeza, se le ha podido adjudicar en la escasa primera veintena del XVI en que anduvo residenciado en esta cuidad.
