The present contribution is the result of an initial analysis of the experience, launched in March 2017 by the Municipality of Bologna, of the District Laboratories, as a "space" for relations and interaction among and with citizens, besides as a tool to activate and manage structured and continuous processes of community care. In this framework, the University of Bologna team carried out a scientific supervision that allowed a reflection on the positive repercussions, the critical issues and the open challenges of the process, defining process indicators and improvement actions.
