A preocupação com o meio ambiente já existia desde o final do século XVIII. No entanto, a questão só ganhou corpo após a Segunda Guerra Mundial, na segunda metade do século XX, quando a causa ambiental ganhou o apoio popular suficiente nos Estados Unidos e Europa para tornar-se o nascente movimento social que atualmente manifesta-se como uma preocupação social predominante. Por isso, esta pesquisa teve por objetivo mostrar o modo como a interdisciplinaridade foi inserida no contexto das questões ambientais. A pesquisa é de natureza qualitativa, e o trabalho fundamenta-se em pesquisa bibliográfica com teóricos que abordam o tema. Constatou-se que, a interdisciplinaridade só começou a ser inserida no âmbito das questões ambientais no final do século XX, quando os órgãos de fomento começaram a discutir a questão. Por fim, conclui-se que, uma reflexão crítica da sociedade pode dá início a uma nova consciência ecológica, podendo transborda e transcende o campo do ensino, pesquisa e de outras disciplinas.
Concern for the environment has existed since the late eighteenth century. However, the issue gained momentum only after the Second World War, in the second half of the twentieth century, when the environmental cause has gained enough popular support in the United States and Europe to become the nascent social movement that currently manifests itself as a predominant social concern. Therefore, this study aimed to show how interdisciplinarity was inserted in the context of environmental issues. The research is qualitative in nature, and the work is based on a literature review with theoretical that address. It was found that, interdisciplinarity has only been included in the scope of environmental issues in the late twentieth century, when the development agencies began discussing the issue. Finally, it is concluded that a critical reflection of society can starts a new ecological consciousness and may overflows and transcends the field of teaching, research and other disciplines.
