Con Vattimo y Ferraris regresa un viejo debate propio de la modernidad filosófica: la disputa entre el idealismo y el realismo. La cuestión es si hay aquí una auténtica controversia o sólo se trata de una trifulca estéril entre contendientes que, en el fondo, parten de supuestos semejantes. Tal vez, por ello, la auténtica tarea de futuro esté en encontrar, por difícil que sea, un planteamiento filosófico ni realista ni idealista.
With Vattimo and Ferraris an old debate –typical of modernity in philosophy– is back: the controversy between idealism and realism. The question is whether there is a real controversy or it is just a futile argument among contenders who, deep down, assume similar hypothesis. Maybe, for that reason, the real future task is to find, no matter how difficult this could be, a neither realistic nor idealistic approach.
