La implementación de los entornos de aprendizaje personales (PLE) en contextos educativos es un proceso complejo y lleno de retos. Los profesores, como principales agentes del cambio en sus aulas, necesitan apoyo para diseñar e implementar estos nuevos entornos de aprendizaje y para integrarlos en el proceso educativo. En este artículo proponemos un modelo para implementar los PLE Web 2.0 en contextos educativos basado en los objetivos concebidos de los PLE, es decir, a) promover el control del proceso educativo por parte de los estudiantes y b) apoyar y empoderar a los estudiantes para que construyan y apliquen sus PLE. Además, desarrollamos un prototipo tecnológico basado en este modelo, y recogemos y analizamos las percepciones de un grupo de profesores en relación con el potencial del prototipo para mejorar el proceso educativo. Los resultados sugieren que la implementación del modelo puede contribuir al desarrollo de un entorno de aprendizaje orientado al estudiante y a la mejora del conocimiento tecnológico, pedagógico y de contenido (technological, pedagogical and content knowledge - TPACK) por parte de los profesores.
Implementing personal learning environments (PLEs) in educational settings is a challenging and complex process. Teachers, as the main agents of change in their classroom settings, need support in designing and implementing these new learning environments and integrating them into the educational process. In this paper, we propose a model to implement Web 2.0 PLEs in educational settings based on the conceived objectives of PLEs, namely (i) enhancing the students’ control in educational process and (ii) supporting and empowering students to build and deploy their PLEs.
In addition, we develop a technological prototype based on the model, and report and analyze the perceptions of a group of teachers regarding the potential of the prototype to improve the educational process. The results suggest that the implementation of the model can contribute to the development of a student-centric learning environment and improvement in the teachers’ technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge (TPACK).
