«En este artículo se realiza un estudio histórico de la fortaleza y castillo de la villa de La Guardia, centrado, sobre todo, en la época del marquesado (siglos XVI al XIX). También se estudia en él la figura del alcaide y la ceremonia de pleito homenaje, que ratificaba su nombramiento en el mando del castillo. Termina el artículo con la relación de los diversos alcaides de la fortaleza, de los que existe constancia histórica documental. Este trabajo está basado, principalmente, en la investigación realizada en el Archivo Histórico Provincial de Jaén, así como en las más destacadas publicaciones que existen sobre esta temática».
«This article takes a historical study of the fortress and castle in the town of La Guardia, focusing especially on the time of the Marquis (XVI to XIX).
