Se pone en relación los planteamientos, complementarios, de tres feministas contemporáneas. Valcárcel describe el modo en que las filosofías políticas ilustradas, que fundamentaron la creación de los primeros sistemas liberales, reaccionaron para no otorgarles a las mujeres derecho a una libertad e igualdad plenas. Para Postigo no se debe perseguir la igualdad sólo en el ámbito político, dejando el ámbito privado con su estructura jerárquica. Murillo establece una distinción entre privado y doméstico, demostrando que para la mujer no existe un espacio para el cultivo de sí misma, sino uno que anula sus posibilidades de realización en condiciones de igualdad.
We link the complementary approaches of three contemporary feminists. Valcárcel describes how the enlightened political philosophies, which founded the creation of the first liberal systems, reacted not to grant women the right to full freedom and equality. For Postigo one should not pursue equality only in the political sphere, leaving the private sphere with its hierarchical structure. Murillo establishes a distinction between private and domestic, demonstrating that for women there is no space for self-cultivation, but one that annuls their possibilities of realization on equal terms.
