From 2002 the Rieti State Archive has been producing archival boxes for all of the Italian State Archives. The production is entirely artisanal, with the creation of about 70-80,000 containers annually. The boxes are made either with acid free cardboard or else with cardboard lined with acid free paper ensuring a safe environment for their contents. The Rieti State Archive has been particularly active during the last seismic events of Amatrice- Norcia, producing thousands of boxes for the recovery of historical archives throughout the affected area.
