To professionals in History of Philosophy, Wilhelm Totok (1921-2017) is well known: founder of the Leibniz-Archiv (1962), editor-in-chief of Handbuch der Geschichte der Philosophie (1964- 1990). From another point of view, Innocenti remembers here Totok’s career formerly as a librarian, afterwards First Librarian in Hannover in the library named after G. W. Leibniz. Innocenti was editor of the Italian edition (1979-1983) of Totok’s other main work, Handbuch der bibliographischen Nachschlagewerke.
