In accordance with the Enlightenment the poet insistently stands for a redefinition of justice and the rights of humanity. These he doesn't consider abstract claims; like other fundamental modes of existence such as freedom, equality, truth, beauty, morality they are regarded as essential ways of human relationships and activities. Schiller distinguishes the eras of dynamical, ethical and aesthetical state.
