Desde épocas ancestrales descubrir quiénes somos ha constituido una pregunta filosófica que ha orientado tanto lo personal como lo social.
¿Quiénes somos? Definitivamente, mucho más que la reminiscencia de pueblos indígenas diezmados, o pueblos africanos desarraigados, que se mezclaron, se amaron, se odiaron, se reconciliaron, con el conquistador europeo. El objetivo general de la investigación fue la revisión de un corpus de Literatura Infantil de autores latinoamericanos, y mediante el análisis de contenido identificar en estos los rasgos que definen al Caribe, a fin de constituir a la Literatura Infantil como una forma de leernos y construir la identidad caribeña.

The overall objective of the research was to review a body of children’s literature by Latin American authors, and through content analysis to identify these traits that define the Caribbean in order to establish the Children’s Literature as a way to read us and build Caribbean identity.
