El artículo reflexiona sobre la influencia del pensamiento de Alain (pseudónimo de Émile-Auguste Chartier) y sus “Propos” como discurso político radical. En efecto, Alain es una de las grandes figuras de la filosofía política francesa en clave de un renovado republicanismo liberal que enfatiza radicalmente el papel de la educación cívica para fortalecer el compromiso ciudadano con la vida política pública. Desde este punto de vista, la contribución de Alain representa un camino para el pensamiento reflexivo y la acción moral que, por una parte, ha sido consistente con el legado positivo de la Revolución Francesa y, por otra parte, ha influido profundamente el contexto de la Tercera República Francesa (y, más ampliamente, la cultura política del Estado Constitucional en Europa y América Latina). Por último, el autor destaca el valor del discurso republicano de Alain en el contexto de la actual crisis del Estado Constitucional.
The paper reflects on influence of Alain (pseudonym of Émile-Auguste Chartier)’s thought and his “Propos” as a radical political discourse. Indeed, Alain is one of the great figures of French political philosophy in terms of a renewed liberal republicanism which radically emphasizes the role of civic education in order to strengthen the citizen commitment to public political life. From this point of view, Alain’s contribution represents a path for reflective thought and moral action which, on the one hand, has been consistent with the positive legacy of the French Revolution and, on the other hand, has deeply influenced the context of the French Third Republic (and, more broadly, the political culture of the Constitutional State in Europe and Latin American). Finally, the author highlights the value of Alain's republican discourse in the context of the current crisis of the Constitutional State.
