OpenEdition’s platforms offer interoperable and responsive solutions for digital publishing in the humanities and social sciences. These solutions are constantly updated and refined and close attention is paid to the structure of published content. Thousands of books and hundreds of journals have been published on the platform, thereby contributing to maintaining and safeguarding bibliodiversity in the humanities and social sciences. This article describes the portal’s origins and the principles of the OpenEdition project. OpenEdition has developed a specific partnership with the latter in order to develop a sustainable economic model for open access academic publishing.
