The National Centre for Jazz Studies in Siena, Tuscany, represents the largest centre for jazz documentation in Italy. Originally founded thanks to a donation from Arrigo Polillo’s family, to whom the centre is nowdays entitled, the collection kept growing through the years. The actual director is Francesco Martinelli, who keeps aiming at the purpose of making the centre the heart of jazz research in Italy.
