The article offers information on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), a development goal program which will replace the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in 2016. The author discusses the lessons learned from the efforts of MDG including its simplicity and importance in human development, the global norms reinforced by the process, and the difficulty to make progress on areas suffering from conflict and crisis.
